K&N oil filters any good??

My guess is K&N is not making the oil filters themselves. They are just having their name put on them. I would like to see who makes them before I bought one. I used to think all oil filters were alike until someone in here posted a link to someone that had done quite a bit of testing on oil filters. A real eye opener.

I agree all filters are not created equal.
Once I was sold an oil filter for my 1975 Goldwing by a Kawasaki dealer. He swore it was the same filter and would work fine. About two weeks later one night returning from work on the fourlane it started knocking. I quickly hit the kill switch. The next day I started trouble shooting. I found that the right side valve cover was dry & smokey inside. When I removed the oil filter housing the oil filter had collapsed thus causing a broken camshaft and ruined cylinder head on the right side (a $300 lesson in 1978, parts only). When I took the filter back to the dealer he denied any responsibility, said I'd have to write the filter manufacturer. I just chalked it up to "Hard Knocks".
Whatever filter you decide to use, make sure it's intended for use on your machine.
