My Clymer manual says .028 and the Polaris manual says .036

I gap mine at .036 when I change it.

I don,t know about Clymer's info sometimes. They say you have to remove the primary and secondary clutches and belt housing back plate just to remove a starter, which is just plain silly.

Thats funny I just replaced my starter yesterday and noticed that. My friend has the haynes guide so I had him look it up and it had no mention of removal of the primary and secondary clutches . I followed haynes directions and it was a quick job.

I might pick up a Haynes for back up ref and follow the one that makes the most sense

Actually, now that I look closer, it is listed correctly in the supplement at the back of my Clymer book.

Mine is the 2nd edition, third printing in August 2007. How about your guys?
