Default sport 400 questions

Im thinking of getting this Sport 400, 98 polaris 400 2 stroke

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how it would compare to my 250x/300ex?Does it seem like a decent price?
I know the pros and cons to being 2stroke,but I want to know about performance wise, suspension, and brakes.. Thanks

that motor actually has a lot of room left for some serious mods. those 400 sports can be made to fly down the trails

Thats a great price. These engines can be made incredibly fast. If I lived where you lived I would ****** it up.

yes

but check the counterbalancer oil for water prior to purchase, its a dipstick located under the carb looking down with the slot in the top, take a long handle flat handle screwdriver, remove the seat and the black snorkel on the airbox you should see it.

if its rusty or milky run away it only holds about 3 ounces of oil so look carefully at the knurled part of the stick

Find out if it has the stock piston in it and if so plan on doing a topend ASAP due to the stock pistons WILL break in time and can ruin a complete engine
