Default odd noise coming from atv

hello all
i have a 04 sp 600 and the other day when i went through a 1 ft deep puddle i noticed that there was a new noise. at first when i accellerated hard, i heard what seemed like a clicking coming from my front diff, and now whenever i accellerate, this clicking continues till i let off the throttle. when i went through this "puddle" i did use my 4wd. could the 4wd be engaging and disengaging rapidly? any help would be appreciated with this
thank you

can you tell what side it is coming from... maybe a cv joint? if you had the wheels wedged in a rut or somthing... im not sure that it would be making a sound like that if the hubs were kicking in and out.. they are magnetic..

it seems to be coming from the left side. there were no ruts in the puddle that i went through, but i do alot of higher speed trail riding. was hoping to see what it was myself instead of takin it to the dealer and gettin ripped off

if you can narrow it down to the cv joint for sure.. maybe lift up the front and back and put it in 4x4 and listen really good... if it is then its not that hard to replace.. just like 150 or somthing like that for the cv joint...

have you ever changed the hub fluid.. maybe now is a good time

I don't think the 04 has the locking hubs, but the locking dif. I could be wrong. Check your front boots for rips and maybe water got in there and took out the cv.
