idose the speedo have a black back ground?

Called the local Polaris dealer today and I was told the speed sensor costed $114, does that seem right?

 

Check eBay there are a couple on there right now, one is a brand new for $30 + shipping. Good luck.

is what im guessing is what ur looking at. there hada been a mid yr change. anything built round mid 2000 had a digital speedo with a hall sensor. when the sportsmans first came out they were cables to the wheel to get a speed signial and they werent digital. so some time in mid 99 they changed it and then again in 00.

in a 2000 sportsman there are 3 differnt part numbers

and in 99 there is a speedo that is obsoleat. so with all the differnt stuff. id take the wheel sensor off and bring it in to make shure you get the right part. or look at it to make shure you get the right part. since elecrtical items are not returnble. unless unopened.

 

Yeah I had the same thing happen to my 2000. Luckily mine took the cheaper sensor. Also the local dealer tested my speed sensor for free, to see if that was the problem or not.

 

1greenhornet, how did you find the speedo sensor on ebay?, I can't find it.
