2003 sportsman 600 twin speedo needle jumping

after i went for a ride all my electrical went out. i found the short in a wire and redone it. everything is working great until my speedo needle started jumping, it also stalls in reverse without overide pressed. last night the engine started spedering when i rev it. it dosent sound normal. anyone have a solution to this problem yet!??

Your speedometer is going out. Probably have to replace it. I had the same thing happen on my 02 sportsman 500. You will notice that the 4 wheel drive cuts out as well.

not really. mine did that on my 00 sportsman and it was the hall sensor. if i rev it up in park it jump. it also say i was going faster tha i was. i got a new sensor. it fixed the issue. its cheaper than buying a whole new speedo. but iv read that you may be able to get the speedo tested at the dealer. ill bet its the sensor. most likly. thats my thoughts anyways. iv got a diagram id you want to test the hall sensor. you will need to get a few doallar in parts. but it tell u if its the speedo or the sensor.

sounds like the speed sensor on the front right wheel is bad. try replacing that before buying a new speedometer cuz a speed sensor is way cheeper. i've got an 04 600 and had the same problem.
