i had a 2000 polaris 335. oly diifferance is engine size. i got in new in 00.

the 1st 6months"warranty time" they fixed the temp sensor.
in the first 1yr. i fixed the hall sensor.

then i didnt have to fix noting on it for about 3yrs. at the 4yr mark.

i got the carb rebuilt since the needle and seat were wore out from all the driving.
i had to get "after while i learned how to fix" the rear cv boots. i ended up fixing a set every yr after that tell i sold it. so about 10cv boots.
i had to replace 1 front cv boot at the 8yr mark.
new battery at the 6yr mark.
new tires at the 6yr mark.

it had 7000miles, and 700 and some hrs. i never touched the engine. most if not all of it was exspected. cept for the cv boots. but they didnt start to tear tell after it started to sit. prior to that i used it for everything. getting the mail, checking fence, chasing cattle, pulling hay racks, gradeing, spraying, firewood, going to my second job.

2000 have no speedo cable, they have a by wire "Hall Effect" wheel sensor.

How can your wear out font springs?

thats not really true. i thought that. but they changed it in 2000 sometime to the hall sensor. in the 2000 sportsman they have 3 differnt part numbers for types of cables. and think was a discountued.

Could be,the cable speedos had roll over trip, odometer while the digitals had a speed needle but digital trip hour and odometer.

The cable ones looked like this , I like them because if the speedo was smashed the AWD still worked.

yup i agree. i had a 00' sportsman. but i never had an issue with it. the only issue i had with mine was it being foggy from time to time with moisture. the digital ones were white face also.

here are the part numbers.

Anyone who has an older Sportsman should look into replacing the front springs, mine were sagging bad. I could lift the front end 3-4" before the front wheels would lift off the ground. I replaced all the springs with 2003 Sportsman 700 springs. Nice and tight and no sag. She felt brand new :-O
