I'm trying to decide between a SP400 and Kodiak. Anyone ridden both? I'm mostly trail ride.. not alot of mud. I like that the Kodiak is lighter and not as wide as SP, haven't ridden one yet.
Anyone know what I can get for my TB325? Should I wait till spring or will it sell now??
Any opinions would be great.

I like the smooth ride of the Sportsman. I have the 500 H.O.. Should be the same suspension though. I rode a Yamaha Big Bear 400 yesterday. The suspension was very uncomfortable. This may be the same suspension in the Kodiak. Its worth a check.
Good luck.

If I were you i would get the sp400 over the kodiak cause of the independant rear and the true 4wd. Kodiak is a nice machine though Ive ridden one and didnt think much of the suspension, my friends 99 boss is much better, never been on the sp400 though.

A nice problem to have....(choosing between 2 great quads). Both are good bikes but I would go with the SP400 because of the IRS. Other than that, these bikes are very competitive and you really would not go wrong with either. Yamaha has done an excellent job on the Kodiak. I wonder when some of its features will migrate to the Grizzly. (especially liquid cooling).
Sounds like a win-win thing to me.

The Kodiac won atv of the year. Go to the Yamaha site to get a true opinion. Last weekend, I rode with a 60 year old on a Kodiac he kept up great and the only comment he made about his Yamaha was how very comfortable it is. Reliability is most important to me. You know the facts.
