My list:

50' of 1/2" rope (or 2500 lb. rated mule tape)
Socket and open end wrench sets (1/4" to 1 1/4" in my case, but metric might rule here)
Flat tire "quick repair" kit (plug and CO2 gear)
Winch
At least one other machine and rider

I could be way off base with this, but methinks the above ideas are essential, especially if you ride in the back country a lot (I do).

Just my humble opinion: You need to be prepared enough to get off the trail and back to serious help on your own. If you are not, you are likely to end up regretting it one day.

Thanks folks. Appreciate the inputs. My biggest challenge is being able to carry what I may need without taking up too much space. I'm in the process of assembling a survival bag that I can take with me pretty much anytime and not limit it's use to the ATV. I'm using a Maxpedition bag and it should work pretty well for hikes, ATV's, and Jeeping. In any case, I appreciate the inputs.
Cheers,
cc

Can I please have some more info on this. What type? will it fit in a polaris front cargo box? Is it heavy? Dose it work good or do i need to be scared because I run into a lot of spots that I could get stuck with no whinch point and it makes me ride a lot less since I do it alone. I tried a dog stack in the ground and it doesnt work.
