Take the VIN# to dealer have them make a key.
Call Locksmith, have them make a key.
Take ignition cylinder to motorcycle shop, have them make a key, or sell you a new key / cylinder.
Get manual and hotwire it to use no key.

Whichever works.

PS Make several copies of new key.

We always carry an extra key in the shifter ****..The top pops right off and makes a nice spot to keep key...

Did you have a tag or key chain on it? dont put anything on the key and wind wont pull it out of ignition.

Wink

Leave the ignition off on the handle bar and the key to the on position when traveling. Key will not come out in the on position and power is not ON when handle bar switch is off.

What weedy said.

I like the idea about hiding a key somewhere on your 4 wheeler or trailer too...

I bought a bright colored coiled rubber wrist key band for the key. Its fluorsant green. So if/when you drop it and its easy to spot. I understand that is NOT much help when going down a road at highway speeds and long distances. But since you are changing your key habits after you replace etc. just a little tip.

Regards,

R'
