Default 2002 Polaris Trailboss Odd Problem

I have a 2002 Trailboss 325.It has been sputtering and backfiring lately. I have checked the carburator and fuel pump and they are fine. I discovered that by wiggling the strand of wires under the front cover (in front of the handlebars) that it fixes the problem, but it only works temporarily before i have to do it again. Does anybody know what is causing this or how to permanently fix it?

Thanks,
Alex

you got either a loose connection or there is a wire that has rubbed through a grounding out. i would start checking any wire that is black then go from there (black = kill motor when grounded)
