Default Daughter ran my 500HO into a tree.....

SHe's fine but......my ATV is not.

Put the tree between the left front wheel and the frame.

Bent the a-arm which pulled out of the bottom of the shock tower, which yanked the driveshaft out. Only thing holding the wheel on is the shock/spring.

ANybody have any idea on how much Im looking at to repair this? Want to do it myself. Doesnt look too difficult.

Kids.....the older they get...the more money they cost you.
Gotta love em.

Based on your description....

Roughly of course:

New Axle - anywhere from $150 - $300 for new/aftermarkt

New A-Arm - anywhere from $30 - $60 for a used one from Ebay

New Ball Joint(s) - $50

If it pulled out, changes are you bent the plate that holds the ball joint in

New Plate - $15 (just a guess though) Might as well by the little screws too, I had to drill one of mine out.

Good Luck with the fixes!!

Good to hear she is OK. Ebay is probably your best bet for getting parts reasonably.

If you have collision coverage, file an insurance claim and then it will only cost your deductible.......And you can have the dealer do the work.

just cuz the drive shaft fulled out dosent mean its bent. i had the neighbor kids run my 2000 sprtsman front wheel into the culvert. the shaft poped back in. the boot was fine. i had to rebend the floorboard frame, the a-arm bolt mounts, a new shock, and some other stuff. the most exspensive part was the shock. id say round $300 or so if you do it ur self. if you being it in id say over $500 the labor is what kills ya. i did as much as i could then brought it in. but now i do all my repairs cept the valve adjustment.

good luck

Thanks for all the replies.

Took the wheel off and was able to see a lil more.

Tierod is bent.. A Arm is bent...the ball joint at the end of the a-arm that goes into the bottom of the shock tower is screwed. Driveshaft doesnt look bent but hard to tell till I get more apart.

No cash for repairs at this time. BUmmer.

oh its a 2005 500 HO.
