Default Modified Sportsman Exhaust

We did this on my buddies 05 SP HO. Did it with a variety of air tools and a welder in his dads body shop. Cut a hole in the end to fit the piece of exhaust tubing at the end. Cut the tubing at an angle. Cut out all the the baffles but 2 and drilled holes in those. Cut off old exhaust outlet and patched closed. Welded end cap on and grinded smooth. Painted using Rustoleum High Temp paint rated for 2000 degrees. Sounds like an aftermarket pipe but with the stock exhaust. WAY cheaper too.
A total of $20 for materials. Cheaper than $450 for a HMF

Hehe.....Nice job!!

Wait til I get a pic of mine.....My Scrambler 400 with the hot seat pipe is WAY loud so I took the silencer off and modified a $400 Micron road pipe I had laying around.....I can take it off and remove baffles to let it scream as loudly as it did before or I can add them to quite it down to at least "reasonable".

I'll get pics Saturday.

Thats pretty smart! Yea we cut out the baffles first and put it back together and it was still wimpy so we cut er open again and made it that! Much better results. Might even submit it to Polaris get a contract to make em

Not to p-ss on your parade but if you where to stick that atv now on a dyno you most likely lost power instead of gaining.

Don't get me wrong it looks good man, nice work. I was just wondering about the horsepower loss.

I did the same exact thing to my 700 that you guys did (WAR1OCK). I did notice a loss of power when i was hauling wood. One other thing, it looked like I had underglow because the pipe was really freakin red. I put a LRD slip-on on it, got a crapload more tourqe, plus it sounds bad ***. Now i have a cracked manifold so i get to play with that part now.
