Default 2004 sp 500ho

Hay all,
Im having a problem with my sp500. Not sure if it either electrical of fuel, but leaning towards electrical. Doesnt matter if in high or low when the tach is reading 4200-4700 the motor starts to skip. It happen more often when the motor is under a load. I did adj the ETC and made no difference..I replaced the spark plug, inspected plug wire and its fine.Replaced the fuel filter, air filter is clean. Any ideas?
Thanks

Could you be on the rev limiter? Is there a rev limiter?

check the boot from the carb to the engine, if it has a crack in it they run bad in spots of the rpm range. Mine did that. Just an option.

Check both vent lines that go from the engine and oil tank to the air box, if either has a hole rubbed in them it will run bad, get replacement fan off ebay, type in polaris fan in atv parts, there is a place that sells direct replacement Spal fans for around $100 bucks.
