Default Boot Replacement

Im trying to replace a rear boot on my 02 Sportsman. What is the best way of getting the old one off and slipping the new one on? Thanks in advance.

I don't have that snap ring, or if I do I cannot see it. That looks like a newer quad then mine. I've seen where you just tap it off the shaft with a hammer, not having to squeeze a snap ring, is this how mine is then. I just don't want to bang away and break something.

I really have no idea what kind of shaft it is. I just can't find this ring, i dont want to pound on it and have it break the ring.

clean it real well you will find the circlip ring ears. and if you use a rubber hammer you wont brake nothing. but i just spread the circlip and the shaft falls out.
