Default 1998 400L engine oil issue have no clue whats goin on with this p.o.s

I've searched all the 400L engine oil topics on this thing and am hearing a whole bunch of different ones. This is rediculous with all the crap in the way and 566040000 drain and fill bolts. I'm so glad my banshee has no plastics, has out of frame pipes and one drain plug and runs on alky for easy tuning lol. If someone could chime in and clear this up for me as simple as possible i would much appreciate it.

Anyways,I see and hear about 4 different drain plugs and only 1 or 2 needs oil?....Crank case oil...10w-30 and 70cc's...am i on the right track so far? One fill is the grey dip stick near the back case next to the carb under the air box right?

The drain for the crank case oil is under the case 10mm hex bolt with + correct? What is the same shape 10mm bolt that's right next to it (left side) on an angle? And i know one drain bolt is on the starter and one is on the bottom recoil cover in case of water etc gets in...

Next question, what is the big drain bolt in the front of the motor right side next to the water pump/radiater hose? And is oil supposed to be in there and if so what kind? I was reading about counter balance oil and crank case oil and i am trying to figure out which is which or if they are the same and some people just word it different.

Again, i appoligize for the long post but my patience has already done ran out a couple days ago

It sounds to me like you need a shop manual or at least a owners manual.
Sorry I can't help any more than that!

I agree on the good advice.Unfortunately when i realized what a P.I.T.A it would be to drain and fill some oil out of a little atv,the polaris dealers closed. This particular model has shrunk pride a tad bit...pothetic reason for a man who knows his way around a tool box i'll tell ya that.

Thanks anyways fellas

well you are working on a two stroke so you don't need any to worry about crank case oil. But you should check the counterbalance oil often. mainly to make sure the water pump seals are not leaking. the 70cc of oil i call a min I usually run about 100 cc.
that plug on the front of the motor is the same cavity as the counter balance oil. It is left in the casting, from an older design that had no dip stick. It was used as a level plug. So If you wish you can fill it there till it comes out the hole.
