I put about another hundred miles on it this past weekend, and it didnt do it every time it started, but it still did it a lot, i kept running diagonostics and nothing popped up, i can take it to the dealer after next weekend, but its having another issue, when it gets warm, like riding for an hour or so, we would stop and take a break, if the fan was running i would let it run to cool off, which the fan has nothing to do with the problem, but when trying to start it again, the starter would miss, it wasn't grinding, it would whine, then when starting it again it would start just fine

Smile Thank You

I wanna thank everybody for coming up with ideas that i needed to look at what may be wrong with my sportsman, but i think i have figured it out, after riding last weekend, i went to a different gas station to get some gas, and i got some 91 octane gas instead of 87 what my convenient gas station only carries, and it ran a hundred and ten percent better!!! So i dunno if i got into some bad gas or it just don't like the 87 the greatest, but i'm gonna keep running 91, i talked to the dealer about it, and they said that the 800's are picky about their gas. And If it seemed like i was being a smarta$$ to anybody who was helping me, mainly stendori, sorry bout that, this is a great site, and very helpful and i do appreciate it, so until this not so mechanically inclined person needs help again, thanks again

That is funny you mention this...Belieive it or not, I used to run ONLY 93 octane through mine until I got to a station that only carried 87. I filled her up and she ran 110% better just like you said. Only difference here is that you noticed it going to a higher octane and I noticed it going to a lower octane. That doesn't make too much sense to me. Anyone have any ideas on why this might be? The other thing that I have noticed is that my friend has either an 06 or 07 700 twin efi. He can pull a wheelie extremely easy when I seem to have problems getting it off of the ground. Something wrong with mine? I always seem to have a misfire around 3,000 rpms too. I just picked up some new NGK plugs to put in it, so maybe that will cure the problem.

Yeah, that really don't make any sense to me, but i'm no mechanic by no means LOL, but i have no problems pulling a wheelie on my 800, it can pull its self up easy even when i'm sitting all the way forward on the seat, and i'm not a small guy at all,
