Default Rear outside boot problem.

Hello everybody. It has been a while since I posted in this forum. So long that in the meantime I forgot my username and password and had to create a new. Anyways, I'm having an issue with the rear right outside boot. It looks to be severely twisted and possibly damaged. Before I take it in I was hoping for some feedback on whether I need a completely new boot. Here are some photos and thank you for the input. The first two photos are of the boot I'm having trouble with and the second photo is the way it should obviously look. Big difference. Is this something that can be fixed at home?

did you check the clamps to see if they loosened up and maybe spun? if its not ripped or doesnt have a hole in it, then try takeing say the small clamp off and see if you can un spin it and check it out good.

looks like maybe the big clamp might have grabbed the outer housing causing the boot to spin, i have seen that happen before

Could have been a small rock that got wedged inbetween the housing and big clamp causing it to twist.

It should be WET TO TOUCH with grease if there is a hole or leak......With it turned and compressed that much the Boot should be wet if there is a hole . Forced out.....Caper.......

Yup, as long as it is not torn, it should still be fine. It is just a protective cover after all. I would pull it back and make sure everything looks good inside it just for good measure, but you should be fine.

Ditto on the last post. If you are not having cv issues then straighten it out and reclamp it.
