Default no/weak spark on Trailblazer

I have a 2001 trailblazer that has no visible spark. Let me explain....I replaced the Stator and exciting coil behind the flywheel. I pulled the the spark plug and could not see a spark jump over the plug, but my finger slipped on to the screwdriver and I got a jolt. Would the CDI or magneto cause this? or did I I not get a good connection soldering the wire on the stator? Any suggestions on testing different things? Thanks.

Not sure if its the same theory or not on your compared to my warrior, but when I put an aftermarket stator or pickup on my bike I ended up having to switch the 2 wires around on the pickup, no reason behind it other then thats what the manufacture told me to do and it worked. another buddy of mine had the same problem and I told him to switch the wires and his fired up first try. I would recommend using a OHM meter and checking the resistance per your manual and go from there.
