well, i lost the keys to my 86 trailboss so until i find them, i cut out the switch and conected the wires together. i had it running and then the red and black wires touched the black/white and brown wires and the thing shut off. i was able to re-start it. i then turned it off and went inside to eat dinner, when i came back out, it wouldnt start even with starter fluid. any suggestions? could there be a blown fuse somewhere from when the wires touched? any suggestions are appreciated.

just a little update on my situation... about a week ago i decided to check for spark again and for some reason, it had spark and started. i ran it around the yard a little bit and it felt fine with plenty of power. i drove it around for about 10-15minutes and then turned it off for the night. next morning... it wouldnt start. i did a spark test and this time it had spark but still wouldnt start, not even with starter fluid. i tried replacing the spark plug and it still wont start. im just kinda lost. the only thing i can think of would be that its flooded down in the crankcase but other than that i am completely stumped. any ideas?

if it was flooded the plug should have been extremly wet and if you tried starter fluid to start it and it didnt fire(which it would even flooded most of the time)then my guess therre is other isues. did you do a compression test to see what it was. tit should be at least around 100 psi to have it run. imo
