Now just how fast are Sportsman 800's?
#1
I just ran into a buddy who wanted to go riding tomorrow.....We was talking about my Scrammy 400 and his YFZ 450.....Anyway, his friend has an older Trailblazer 400, with a 416 kit, FMF pipe, clutch kit, it's been ported and head shaved. And he said it will stay dead even with a Sportsman 800....
Now I haven't really been around the big 800's, but my guess would be the 416 should wax one.
Am I being naive here or are the SP's really really fast?
I thought that was interesting, anyway.....

IMO and experience, I can stand my 800 up off the line,it will top out around 67-70 but as far as beating a 2 stroke, just not happening, my son has a 450 honda and it will wax me like I was standing still. Most my friends have sport quads and I may beat some top end, off the line they usually wax my 800. Of course I'm the one who has to pull them out of the mud. I'm the one who can put 200 miles in a day and still walk, I'll climb anything they will and go places they can't. If you're buying a 800 for speed, save your money and get a 2 stroke.

my 05 800 only goes a hair over 60. my 95 xplorer, ported head cut stock pipe is dead even. A 2wd trailblazer with those mods should kill it bad. a stock 450 race quad better watch out for the trailblazer.

your comparing apples to oranges when trying to put a 4 stroke 800 sportsman to a 2 stroke sport bike. just not even worth trying to compare as they are a totally differnt animal. lol

I had an 800 that would go 87-88 mph. My buddies kodiak 450 would be less than a quad length behind it. They were strapped down to a trailer being towed down the interstate. It all depends on what part of the story you tell or leave out.
