My brother needs some new treads and figured it would be easier to just get a new set of take offs.

No. Not without wheel adapters.

So the wheels are incompatible? Is this due to a different bolt pattern?

I have a set of 26" PXT's on 12" steel rims with less than 50 miles on them off my 800 that will fit if he's interested.

How much do you want for them. I have a 2003 600 that could maybe use new tread...

Thanks for the replies. I talked to the dealer and he said the Yamaha's use a metric bolt pattern and Polaris doesn't so that's why the wheel spacers are needed.

Your PXT's sound great but shipping would be cost prohibitive to Kingston, MA where my brother lives.
