HELP!!! Polaris Sportsman 800 taking off when shifting into gear..
HELP!!! Polaris Sportsman 800 is taking off when i put it into gear. I snapped the belt with a clutch kit so bought a new belt from highlifter. I didnt fit so i called my local dealer, and they said theres to sizes so I get the second belt from them which is oem. Put it in gear it still takes off, I bought another clutch kit, still does it. You try and hold the brake it starts squiling real bad and smoking the belt. What can i do???

Taking OFF?
Did you make sure you got all the old belt out from the clutches? Check the one way bearing a lot of the times when the belt shreds some of the shreds gets inbetween the pulleys. On the primary i have seen the belt when comes apart some of the shreds pull the PTFE washers out from the one way bearing on primary. What is your idle speed should be around 1150rpm.......

just checked motor mounts and they all seem fine, I think? The front mount I pulled over to tha opposite side from where it was, having a problem tightening it but its holding. But it still takes off and u cant bring it to another gear. The other mounts seem in contact. They dont have a rubber spacer like the front though if that means any thing. The clutch in the back I took all apart and sand blasted and put back togather.
