Default CV Boot Replacement

I have busted the inner boot on my right rear CV joint. Does anybody know how the joint seperates? The joints on the other boots I have replaced just seperated by hitting with a hammer and the split ring compresses and joint comes apart or some have a split ring on the outside so remove first. I don't see one on this CV and I have tried hitting it but it seems to be put together different. Dealer charged way too much the last time I had them do it. Is their something special you have to do or am I just not hitting hard enough??? oh yeah if it matters it's a 2001 Sportsman 500 HO.
Thanks for any help!!!!

Once you get the circlip spread, it will come right apart with some light taps with a copper hammer or brass punch.
