Dealer prices are out of control, agreed!

I buy all my parts off ebay, be it used or new. Here's a list of parts I needed to purchase to repair my machine. All recent purchases were used but in great condition.

L/R A Arms. Dealer-$208. Ebay, $36 for both, all prices include shipping.

Bumper. Dealer-$106. Ebay, $42

Front rack. Dealer-$180. Ebay, $62

low beam lights w/ bulb. Dealer-$180. Ebay, 2 for $19

Left footwell. Dealer-$140. Ebay, $19. I laughed at this one, the guy listed it for a express, if he was smart he would have listed it as a sportsman. Same part, the ones listed for "sportmans" go for around $80. Shipping was $18, got the footwell for .99!!

Headlight pod, both upper and lower. Dealer-$90. Ebay- $32

I avoid the dealer like the plague.

Dealer quoted me a cost...$940+tax!!! Ebay cost...$210 total!!

Even the new parts I considered were much cheaper than what the dealer wanted. I opted for used, in good cond. parts....I'll continue to do so.

I was thinking that also, I almost think I can supply my Polaris dealership on some parts cheaper then Polaris can.

PS anyone looking for a Polaris (P# 4010161) thermal fan switch(goes in fan) can just go to your local atuo parts store and ask for a 94-88 nissan Maxama switch, or a 86-89 Nissan Stansa and get the same thing half price, I kid you not.

Agreed with the dealer prices on the parts here in Canada, but what really gets me is the outragous labour rates, the local dealer charges $104/hour, when I can't figure it out on my own I'm screwed.

What is reall bad is when you find that some dealers will deal and sell lower prices!! I have found Breeze lawn & garden on e-bay will deal and sell lower on OEM parts!! Parker Yamaha will do the same and are a PoPo dealer. Just gotta keep lookking around....

I agree, Breeze always seems to have lower prices than anyone else. I have them saved as a fav. on ebay.

Everyone here should help make a interchangeable parts list for the Sportsman that we can print out, listing year, part #, cost, and where to purchase.

Hear hear on the Sportsman's parts interchangable list and I recommend having them as a STICKY thread on top of our Forum page.

Cheers,
