I just bought a trailblaser and the previous owner swapped a 500cc into it. Anyone have any idea what the engine could be from?

There should be a date code and serial # on the pull start. Check with a dealer. Doc

the rear brake, is it mechanical or is it hydraulic? the hydraulic will have a brake hose running from it to a caliper. Mechanical will have linkage that goes to the caliper and will hook up to a arm/lever. My 94 sportsman 400 is mechanical my 05 sportsman 800 is hydraulic.

If it is hydraulic it is either worn out seals or it merely needs to be bled because it has air in it. Easy to bleed... pump and hold the foot pedal and open the bleeder valve. When you feel the pedal bottom near the floor board close the valve so it doesnt suck air in. Make sure to keep the fluid topped off and repeat procedure until you see no air bubbles coming out.

If it is mechanical there is an adjustment in the bolt where the arm attaches. You loosen the lock nut screw in the bolt then tighten down the lock nut. Make sure the linkage is actually attached if mechanical as they can come off if not properly put in place with a cotter pin.

the GENIII rear brake pedal is a joke. You can bleed it but do so with the lid off and it will work for a ride or 2.It is basicly an auxiliary brake. It will still work off the hand brake.

They should just call the rear brake the exercise pedal.
