This looks like an idea bank for an aftermarket windshield protector. Maybe a horizontal bar grid that slips down into the front tie-down squares of truck beds and locks into place with a pin, etc.

I installed a "Back Rack" in my truck to avoid this mistake, and it paid for itself on the first day. Loading in the dark, rushing. Moved the truck into the light to see the tiedowns, left quad in neutral with no brake....but it's all good because of the back rack. It also double as a canoe/ladder rack without scratching the top of the cab.

I think unwind has hit on something, I'd buy a bar that slipped in the front holes. One of my budds has a welder, maybe he can fix one up for me.

My neighbor did the same thing a few months back insurance covered it but he had to pay $500 deductible , his box and cab were also badly bent and now you would never know it was hit .

Maybe the gas trucks! My father's LLY powered '05 2500HD is the manliest truck in town, putting down 834 foot lbs to the pavement and still returning 16mpg!!

I have an 09 2500 HD Duramax and I get about 15mpg. You dads is obviously tweaked to get that amount of torque above stock, interesting that he still gets 16mpg though.

The guys are right though, you can bend the end wall of the bed pretty easily. Even more so the side panels of the truck. When I first got the truck my wife used to drive it (her miles much less than mine), but after 3 dings in the side panels - one or two significant - I repossessed it and she gets the Volvo station wagon back

She doesn't know what caused it and the paint isn't chipped, but after 9 months of daily use by me, there haven't been any new ones. I tried to pull them out with no luck. One of these days I'll bring it to a ding doctor.

I thought HD trucks were built for ranch work? They all seem to be dingable by 6 year old kids.

Your LMM motor is AWESOME!! First thing I would do is launch the DPF and run EFILive to make the lights go away.

I built my father's truck and it has turbo back (downpipe really) 4 inch exhaust with no cat, no muffler. Banks airbox with scoop, Banks 6-gun with PowerPDA, twin 15 inch elec fans from Flex-a-lite and a bored out turbo mouthpiece from KillerBee. I'm scared to death to put the power past level 4 with stock trans clutches and stock Alison torque converter. That's next, then back the drawing board for more power.
