Angry 2006 Sportsman 500 EFI runs good for about an hour then has to cool down to start

Recently had it at the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. No codes showed up. Replaced all filters, changed the oil, spark plug, anybody heard of the same problems?

Sounds like a issue I had with my Sp 450...........Turn the key back off and mine reset the Solid State breakers in the ECM.......Don't know if your EFI has a ECM.....Mine were on a recall list.........Caper..............

Maybe your t-stat needs to be replaced? Maybe it's stuck in the closed position? Just a thought, it's worth the couple bucks to replace if it never has been anyway.

Thermostats are more than a couple bucks, mine was around $70. It may also be a good idea to get one of those wireless infrared non-contact thermometers. Harbor Freight sells them for around $30 bucks. They are nice for diagnosing overheat problems.

wow, thats crazy considering a t-stat for a car or truck are really cheap. I guess I made an *** of myself assuming they'd be as cheap as a car. Silly me for thinking a small engine part would be cheaper than a large one!!
