Rebuilt top end-had good compression, now I don't????

Low enough to where I can keep my finger over the spark plug hole when turning motor over. Low enough to where I didn't even need a compression tester to realize that was the problem.
Havn't done a leakdown but I will. Don't see the gaskets leaking though. When I rebuilt the top end I put new ones in, then I put new ones in again when I redid the bottom end just in case.

Well, I thought I was getting fuel, now not so sure. Gonna go spray some gas through the carb or dip the spark plug end in fuel tonight to see if it fires up.
****Is it possible that if the motor is not getting gas or the right fuel/air mix for the top end to lose compression after losing good lubrication ( I lubed the motor well during rebuild) from trying to check for good compression before trying the initial firing of the motor on the rebuild? Thus, causing the rings not to seat right away, losing good lubrication, and leading to loss of top end compression?
I wonder if my carb adjustments are off?????????????????????
