Default Fuel gage flashing with 3/4 tank of gas??

2007 Sportsman 500 Just had NEW ECM put in less than 500 miles on machine

Now my fuel gage is flashing and not in a sequence, just whenever it feels like it. Gas gage NOT WORKING shows full with 3/4 tank of gas.

It has been running great, does this mean more computer problems, what should I do??

Thanks,
Surfcaster

id say take the fuel level sensor out and check it by running the arm up and down see if the fuel level changes on the gauge. you could also check the ohms on the sensor plug.

Mine flashes only when full and climbing steep grades or climbing over rocks and obstacles. I put some Techron concentrate plus in the tank to help clean the sensors. Rode 50 miles and it seemed to help. Now mine still flashes once in a while while full, it stops when it gets down to 3/4 tank. My tank reads accurately, just flashes when full. I'll try another treatment of Techron the next time I ride and see if it gets any better.

How much of a job is this sensor to take out? Do I need special tools and where is the location??

Thanks

youd need some time. but youd need to take off the front cargo box, and remove all the fish pins that hold the front fender on that covers the tank. pic is enclosed. mine is a carb. but the sensor is in the same spot. no need to go out and get any thing. if you have basic tools you should be fine. its up to you if you want to take all the plastic off or just unplug the pump/sensor and check with a ohm meter. on the efis you will need to disconnect the fuel line to get the sensor and pump out. iv added pics.

Mine was the float. Very common problem. Fuel Guage will blink. Look in tank and if float is sinking take unit out, file wire to get float off and call DJS Tractor in Michigan. It's the fuel Guage float for Allis Chalmers D10-D19. He is selling a ton of them. It's 11.00!

That sucks Polaris was supose of fix the ECM and end the recall in 2006. ATV: Polaris Ind. expands recall of ATVs
No Gas gauge in 2001,I just set the trip meter at zero after a fill up and know a nature walk is coming up when it nears 100 miles.
