Magnum fan switch LR 60

Magnum fan switch LR 60
I just bought a 2000 Magnum and the Fan and Hotlamp switch (LR 60) has a burn hole in it. I do not have a manual yet but have a neibors that cover a 2000 Sportsman 335. The wire diagram matchs up with the wiring. It states to short the Thermistors to each other for the fan and temp light to come on (with key on). Nothing happens. So I'm sure the LR 60 is bad but what could of cause this to burn up? I know it could have just be the switch it self but do not want to put in a new one and it burn up also.
I did take a ohm reading on the OR/BLK, R/W and BLU/W and there is low resistance and after looking at wire diagram this looks right. I also grounded the OR/BLK wire with key on fan ran like it should. I also need to check the light by grounding the BLU/W wire and see if it comes on.
Anyone have there LR 60 switch burn up with no other problems?
