Getting ready for winter plowing
#22
MotorMike are you speaking from experience, I have never had or heard of a plow freezing to the ground. If it is a problem I would try putting cardboard or a piece of wood under the plow before I lowered it, but I definetaly would not keep the plow raised up.

Hand warmer and thumb warmer is a MUST!!! Don't go crazy on the blade size unless you need it. My prior was blade was 60 inch and was too large for my size driveway. I prefer going a tad smaller and making more trips. Easier to work with when you get hit hard with deep heavy snow.

Now I need to get some shorter winch cable or go with syn rope for the season. Princess Auto has Aircraft cable/Winch cable for $.19 a foot for 3/16. I might just do this and get about 5 feet of it.

tow strap eh? I have l0ts of that kicking around. Now I have never taken a winch cable off before so is there anything I should know? and how would I fasten in a tow strap so I could use it?

well, different winches have different ways of attaching it to the spool, and usually there is a small hole that you could screw the tow strap onto the drum, but not all do
and you could try searching on here, I know it has been brought up before
