If you plan on loading or unloading it in a truck or trailer yu will need the ground clearance. The greater the gc the easier it will be to pile up the snow. To me its a no brainer go with the g2. The very rare occasion you may need a part they are available at the nearest polaris dealer.

I have a polaris 500 ho, what brand of plow would you guys suggest

I just got a sportsman 400HO w/ glacier II plow. I have yet to plow snow but ive done a bunch of plowing dirt, compost pile, brush etc in the back yard. looks good so far, have to see how it holds up.
