Default Mirror & Heated Grip Question

Hello,

When I decided to purchase an ATV, I perused this site for sometime and have gotten great information and ideas.

I recently purchased a Polaris 550 XP (Browning LE). It has heated grips which leads to my question.

I would like to install a mirror on the end of the handlebar such as the ****/Polaris mirror (such as the thumbnail below). To expose the end of the handlebar I obviously need to cut the end of the grip. Will this damage the heating element?

I assume not, but I thought I would ask just to be sure.

Thanks

Most if not all the heating elements i seen for the handlebars are a wrap of foil or coil around the actual handle on the bars.....So you should be fine................

Note: the small hole in the end of the handle bar is for compressed Air to install and remove them very easy..........When you cut this away for the mirror the grips may never be removed without cutting them, off.....
....Caper.......

I would stay away from that type. Sticks out too much. Before you know it BAM its gone. I went with this type. Found them on eBay for about $40 total with mounts from 2 separate auctions. They do not stick out. I have been in the woods, trails, the mountains of Harlan KY and never a issue. Just my 2 cents.

Thor, what is the brand of those mirrors? And do they come with extra bolts for the left side one that seems to mount on the winch switch?

The mirrors are called EMGO Roadhawk. The mounts are standard that I found at a online shop for about ten bucks. I just put them on a angle to avoid the winch switch. It would not be a issue if I used the standard Warn switch mount like I did on my SP800.

Okay, thanks, Thor. Something else to think about.
