I thought about trying to fix the tranny myself, but decided it was too much trouble. After a quick check online for parts inside the tranny I figured it would be at least $300 worth of stuff to rebuild it if I was lucky. All those $30 $40 parts add up quick and some are $100 $200 parts. Not knowing anything about that transmission scared me away quick.

I got the bad one now I can pull it apart if I want and see if it's worth rebuilding. I paid $350+shipping for the one I got off ebay. If I rebuild the bad I one might sell it and see if I can get my money back. Who knows.

Just wanted to let anyone who is looking at buying one of these quads used like I did know exactly what they are getting into. Transmissions are HIGHLY SUSPECT imo.
