Rear hub housing
#1
Hi guys, I am new to this forum, but like most specialized forums everyone seems to be great people. I am hoping that some of you can help me.
I have a 2004 Sportsman 500 H.O. My questions is on the rear hub housing where the bearing goes and the C.V. shaft goes through. Is there supposed to be fluid in there. I was servicing it today and noticed that I have some slop in the bearing and when I took it apart to investigate I noticed that it looked rather dry in there. I could not find anything in the owners manual about hub lubrication at all. I am supposed to be going on a 200 mile trip on Saturday and Sunday. Please help.
Thanks

I guess I should have taken it apart before I wrote on here. The hardest thing about replacing that is pressing out the bearing. I didn't even look at the back side to see that it can't hold any fluid. Any way I got two bearings that are due in on thursday so I will put it back together then.
Thanks for the help.
