I was wondering if a 1999 Xplorer 400 will swap into a 1995 Xplorer 400 without a problem.
Are they the same engine or not.

two differences, the recoil cover has the handle position different. to keep it away from the pipe. and the spigot on the water pump is turned 180 degrees because the coolant line on the newer ones don't wrap under the motor beside the starter. that's all i'm aware of. oh and the cly had some design changes, no big deal either. but may require a different intake boot, because the intake flange is at a different angle.
