problems with a 1993 350l
#1
I had the machine idiling, and it backfired. after that it was almost impossible to get started. I figured that it was a blown out crank shift seal. I checked the clutch side first, and it seems fine. I looked at the outer seal on the flywheel side and it looked good. I started to take the bolts out of the crankcase from behind the flywheel, and a milky substance started oozing out of the bottom bolt holes. I figure it is coming from a bad water pump seal. but where is it mixing with oil from? and if the 2 outer crankcase seals being in good shape, what is causing the hard start?
Any help would be really appreciated.
