Default Warn provantage plow system

Okay before I buy looking for advice. I have a 2009 850XP/EPS. Have been looking at plow systems. Since I wanted a warn winch I bought the KFI winch mount. Polaris glacier II plow system won't work as we all know. I have been looking at other posts here and most seem happy with the warn provantage plow. Just wanted to confirm that and also are you happy with the front mount kit from warn? Also does it work similar to the glacier system? Easy hook up etc. Do you loose any ground clearance with the front mount kit. All help is greatly appreicated!!! Thanks

I have the provantage. My plow and plow mount is together and I just recieved the vehicle mount today. I have not installed it yet but I just read the instructions. It does use the 2 bolt wholes that are on the polaris mount. It basically bolts to the machine with 4 bolts. 2 go on the winch mount the other 2 bolt to where the bottom of the "fangs" bolt into. ( Im now glad I switched my mount from the kfi to the polaris) There is 2 sets of instructions. 1 for polaris winch mount and 1 for a warn winch mount. For the warn winch mount you have to take the winch mount off the machine and install a bracket they give you that will give the mount the 2 bolt holes the polaris mount already has. If you already have the polaris mount the install seems to be much easier. The instructions do not mention the kfi mount so im not sure if it will work or not. Just call warn and ask them. this was all new info to me. The instructions say you must have a winch mount or you cannot mount the vehicle mount. I guess you can not have a manual lift with this plow. Hope this was not to confusing!!

good to hear warn came out with a decent mount system. bought the version you u-bolt underneath to the frame tubing. kept shearing hardware after 2 weeks of use. called warn 4 times for replacement parts. bought that setup for 420 bucks. sold it in immaculate condition the next summer for a c-note. cant wait to use my new Moose! happy trails!!

dslanec thanks for the help. Now I am not sure what way to go. When you switched from the KFI mount to a polaris mount where did you get the mount or did you buy a polaris winch and mount together? I just hate to take everything a part to mount this warn system since I have a KFI mount. I really like warn winches and that is why I didn't buy the polaris set up. Let me know when you get a chance and thanks so much for the help!!

I got lucky on the polaris winch mount. I found it on e-bay and won it for $32.00. The guy bought the kit and said he only needed the winch( Not sure why) so he sold the mount. I was in the same boat as I already had a warn winch so I was not about to buy the polaris kit, so I purchased the kfi. I only had the kfi onbout a week. At the time I wanted the polaris mount so I could get the glacier plow system. But then I got the warn. I had no idea the warn plow used the hole's in the polaris mount, just got lucky.

Well I finished my install of the plow this morning. I can lift the bottom of the blade off the ground 26"!!!!......That is even higher than my old glacier 2 system. Now we just need snow so I can test it out.

The glacier 2 is awesome on the XP's not the older style. I use my G2 commercially and last winteer it got a ton of use. It would probably equal about 10 years residential use. No Problems. I have a moose county plow and a cycle country state plow. The G2 is just as good as those two, but alot easier to hook up.
