Tul-Aris Superbike
#1
Has anyone checked out the March issue of Cycle World? There is a bad *** project race bike in it called the Tul-Aris, created by one of the engineers who made the V-Star Polaris street bike the award winner that it was. This guy has incorperated a 700cc twin 2-stroke Polaris snowmobile engine (beefed up to a 780cc w/Hot Seat components)mated to a Ducati transmission w/carbon fiber case into a screaming street racer. This thing is awesome. Over 160 hp!! Imagine Polaris taking this setup and placing it in a racing framed quad. Come on Polaris!! You've obviously got the engineering resources!! Put them to work on what we really want!!

the best thing about the bike is not the power. It was the power to wieght ratio, Its not that hard to get that horsepower out of bikes. It ways so little in wieght, compared to anything out there. I was another show on TLC called extreme machines, they had a roket powered bike. The thing was crazy. It did 0-200mph in less the 15 sec. Who would have the ***** to ride. You just had one gear with it. Just turn the throttle to go faster. But get this you can buyit for a reasonable prise of just $237000. They said Jay Leno bought one. DId anybody else see that show. the bike is totaly crazy.

There is an article in this same issue of Cycle World I saw the Tul-Aris in about Lenos turbine powered monster. The serial # on his is 002. It is driven by a helicopter turbine! Estimated speed is over 260mph, although the creator of this thing has only had it up to 200mph. They also say it is like turning a dragster when it comes to handling. It also has a rear view video cam display, I guess so you can get an idea of just how fast things behind you are shrinking away at over 200mph LOL! It is a beast. But back to the Tul-Aris project. I was just commenting on how simple and light weight this engine setup would be to incorperate into a quad frame. The biggest gripe I hear when talking about getting some really awesome HP into a quad is the engine weight problem. This seems to be the ticket out of that.
