Default Its time for a new toy

Its time for a new toy in my garrage!

I currently have an 01 raptor with a few mods.

I would like the YFZ450, as it suits my riding style more because it is lighter.
I dont know wether to sell my raptor and buy the 450, or just buy the new one and have 2 quads.
I dont really want to sell the raptor because i have spent a lot on it, but at the same time it is silly to
have 2 quads.

my other option i am considering is to buy a superbike (either R6 or CBR 600)
I really want a superbike, but I also want the 450.

Maybe i should just sell the raptor even though I love it

It is a horrible predicament to be in, I know.........but what would you do?

keep raptor and buy superbike
OR
keep raptor and buy new 450
OR
sell raptor, buy 450, and buy superbike

I would keep the raptor & buy a sportbike. Have a toy for the pavement and one for the dirt. JMO

I would imagine you would take a heavy hit on your aftermarket parts when you sold the rappy. Perhaps if you parted it out and returned it to stock you would come out better. From the looks of your suspension setup, you have wanted a yfz all along, even when there wasnt any for sale.

I would say sell the rap. Buy a yfz, and get the bike. R6 IMO. Great bike, just wish I could have all of the toys I want too.

I will definately take a hit on the aftermarket parts. If I can get a reasonable price for the bike as is, i will sell it. Other wise I will return it to stock form and sell the suspension and a-arms/axle seperate.

I will miss it though! especially on the dunes.

Does anyone know how the YFZ performs on the dunes compared to the rap????

I would keep the raptor and get a R1 or R6.

Man that new updated R1 is beautiful......
just wish yamaha had updated the current R6 as well, but I guess that will happen next year.

I want a 600 class bike, as they are faster on the track than the big 1000's.

I have ridden the YFZ, and it is the bike for me.
I just wonder how it will do on the monster dunes in Namibia (SW Africa)
Im guessing that because it is lighter and has a power band more like a 2 stroke, it will do just fine.

yfz owners have been bragging about how great their bikes are in the sand since they came out. there are tons of videos showing them climbing the best hills we have in north america, and doing it better than most of the raptors. dont worry about the yfz, its a great dune machine.

I would sell a Raptor for a Yfz in a new york minute! I've had the chance to ride both, and theres no comparision between the two in handling. And it is easily noticeable that the Yfz revs MUCH faster than the raptor.

Once you ride the 450, you will probaly never feel the same about the Raptor and it will just collect dust, so I say sell the Raptor and get both the 450 that you can mod it all out and fall in love with it like you did the Raptor and also get the superbike. I sold my modded 03 LE Raptor for a Banshee and never been more in love with a quad, and now your talking a new 450.............you'll wont miss the Raptor one bit. JMO
