Sportsman 800 top speed?

Speedo's are generally inaccurate on quads. Or maybe inconsistent is better. Tire pressure, belt slippage, bigger or smaller tires are all variables. But there are also differences in performance on quads of the same model year to year, and even quad to quad. I have the slower of the two 850XP's purchased together, even of the difference is minimal, it's enough to be noticable, and enough for me to be thinking aftermarket exhaust.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Concerning the tire size questions I'm running 26" Mudlites. The tires are the only thing aftermarket on the quad. For everyones information I called my dealer about this and after he called Polaris he tells me the touring model has a lower gear ratio than the standard 800 since it's supposed to haul more weight. Apparently Polaris says the 2 up machines should be in the 55-60mph range and the standard 800 is in the 60-65mph range. I don't know that I believe his explanation. If the RZRS is rated by Polaris to run 63mph my machine should be able to do that easily. As for the questions about why I need to go that fast, well... it's my perogative. Actually I used to ride a Banshee years ago, so I still like to rip it up every once in a while. However, I needed a 2 up machine so I can leagally ride my 3yr old son with me according to the rules at a lot of parks. And just to squelch any other of subject replies, I'm obviously not pushing the machine that hard when he's riding with me.
