Thumbs up 800 Handling

Any way to make an 800 Sportsman to handle better on the trail's beside's spending 1500.00 on Elka's. How about that power steering unit you can bolt on from atv power steering a division of ATR research, anyone tryed it yet. I went and drove the other manufacturer's big bore beside's the canned hammed and just hate to give up sportsman's ride.

Thank's again for your input

When I added my heavy duty springs to the front of my quad it improved the handling a bit. I'd say it was a 10-15% improvement. It's a little easier to steer with less diving in the corners and when going downhill. Cost was about $50 from Polaris.

if the 800 springs has started the sag as they all tend to do in the front then they do start to handle worse. as moose stated he put heavier springs on and i put spacers in mine to fix it. the p/s unit is expensive i hear.

Yea I echo the same Outback! I have posted similar threads and seems like it always
gets shot in the foot from those with the XP's questioning why to put out the money on the add on PS. Their arguments are sound but once you get these things paid off and custom it to your liking, ya kinda want to keep what ya got. For me to trade or sell and buy new, I would be losing more money and taking on more debt. Which in my opinion is a pretty simple answer and that is to keep what I have and like you seek what I can do one thing at a time with little money here and there to improve. ** IMO

MH is right, as to why I added my HD's too. It just seems like something now needs to be done with the rear. More $$$ money for ya,. lol...lol.

Putting money out for things seems like there is no way around it.

Just not much you can do with the struts. Upgrade to something without struts. Just my opinion.
