Voltage Rectifier Options for 94 400L
#1
I have a 94 400 L with a bad voltage rectifier. I have traced and tested and all symptoms point to the regulator. Voltage coming in from Stator, but leaving only as 2.4 v. So, here is the question. I have looked the voltage rectifier over and it has 3 yellow wires coming in, one red leaving, and a ground, plus a chassis ground connected to the frame I believe. I have looked this up in the OEM polaris parts and the price is $90. However, I have found many on Ebay from $25-$40 that look exactly the same with the same wire colors and all, but they are from different year polaris atv's. So, can I use any of these regulators if they have the correct hookups, I would think that they all perform the same functions. Is this true? Just looking to save a few bucks here if possible. I have read up on this elsewhere and have heard that most regulators are interchangeable if they have the correct hook-ups for the engine. Thanks for the help.

as long as it says it will fit your application, most cases they do not allow returns on electrical items. i don't believe you should buy used either. i bought mine from cheap cycle parts, saved 20 bucks off of dealer price ,there are others out there that are cheaper but for my sportsman the year it is, they must have an oddball wiring setup.
