Good luck with the pipe and V-Force II's Bill. My dealer lost my tires so in exchange he installed a set of V-Force I's on my Xplorer. I noticed the difference right off the bat. Smoother running and a bit more acceleration.

Todd400, What difference did you notice with the reed settings? Mine(Scrambler) are set on low right now and I wanted to try them on the higher setting. Not sure if it worth the hassle though...

Let me know how that pipe turns out Bill.

Bill, I plan on doing a little spring maintenance and cleaning of the wheeler this weekend so I'll check and see exactly what I was running last summer. I believe I was running a 210 or 220 main in the dead of summer. Remember with your reeds you can jet leaner. I'll check this weekend and get back to yah on Saturday or Sunday.

MNXPLORER,
hey, I was wondering if you have any use for the STOCK tires that come on our 2000 model Xplorer's?My stock Xplorer tires NEVER left the dealership floor.I had the Mudrunners deleivered to my doorstep and I ran up to the dealership while they were preping it and had them also install them.I have the original brand new stock tires just sitting in the polebarn doing nothing.I recall you saying with your added power gain on the Xplorer, your tires are not in real good shape.Let me know,I'll let you allmost steal them from me,
Bill

Xplor, Theres not a huge difference but It does have a little more response in the high tension, the reeds open and close more precise or faster which ever you like, If you take your pipe off or re-jet for summer give it a try or if your bored this weekend, but I wouldnt make a special project of it.

Bill, The stock jet for the 400 is a 230, With the airbox mod and the pipe you are going to be moving more air and more exhaust, The 230 is probably going to be too lean, Id stick with the 250 and keep an eye on it, Right now here in Ohio im running a 260 and its just right, By summer I can probably go back to the 250, The 250 now is to lean and I dont even run the air box mod yet.

Hey Bill

The 230 main jet that todd is referring to, is stock for the scrambler 400. The stock jet on the Xplorer is 210. I would have to agree with MN on the jetting of 230, once you have installed your pipe/reeds. I am very curious to see the actual outcome of your mods as I will most likely go for the same set-up if they work out and are relatively quiet. I would be interested in those tires you have. E-mail me on the link above. Good luck.

Snowride,
If MNXPLORER has no use for my stock tires, you and I will talk. I am pretty sure the Xplorer tires are bigger than what comes on a Scrambler,so I just wanted you to know that first in case you own a Scrambler.

I sure wished my mods would come in today,my poor EXAUSTless Xplorer is begging for ride in the woods.

Bill, thanks for the offer on tires, but I'm going to pass I want somthing with a little more grip. Besides one of my ridding buddies is a manager at Dennis Kirk Scratch & Dent so I can get a real good deal. I just have to make up my mind on what I want. I'm leaning towards a set of Dirt Devils. Since I like to spin them I don't want to spend a fortune on a set and then feel guilty about spinning all the tread off!
