Shaky front end
#1
Buddy of mine has a 93 350 2 stroke 4x4 Polaris. The handlebars go crazy at about 30-35 mph. There is severe side to side "wobbling" through the handlebars at this speed. We replaced the A-arm bushings and tightened the lower end of the handlebar shaft (?technical term?) hoping that would fix the prob, but no luck so far. What should we be checking next? Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks

This may sound pretty stupid but, have you checked the air pressure in the tires?? My friend had an old 250 4x4, it shaked just like you stated in your post. Comes to find out he had like 40 in one tire and 30 in the other, then 25 in one of the rears and 30 in the other.

Two more things come to mind. Wheel bearings and toe out. If the tie rod ends are tight, maybe you have a bad wheel bearing. If not, check the toe - out. The proper toe-out should be in the owners manual.
One last possibility could be tire sealant that has dried in the tires over time, and making them way out of balance. See if there is a 'heavy' spot in the tire by jacking up the front end & spinning each wheel.

I do know that the toe is wrong, the bottoms of the tires are closer together than the top and the tires are worn accordingly (dont know if that's toe in or out) and this needs to be adjusted. I'll try that out in the morning. Thanks
