I can see not taking advantage of them if it was indeed a misfortune. This sounds like bad judgment. Should have put that money into the mortgage to begin with. If I ever got a settlement the house is where I'd put the money first. If it was enough to pay it off, then I could see taking the money from the housepayment I didn't have any more and buying some toys.

A friend would help another friend out, but a real friend would sell it back at the same price when and if the other person got back on their feet.

Title and title insurance included.
Bullhead City, Az. very nice little town (40,000+ pop) right on the Colorado river. I have seen decent little houses go for $28,000 here. Great place to retire to. Summers are hot but right now it's in the mid 70's in the afternoons. Great deserts to quad around.

But a great deal is when your ex wife is in jail, and you still don't have the money to get her out.

Agree, but collateral is a must, even with friends. When things get that bad. I have had a few friends and co-workers who borrowed money, strictly on their "good" word and I never saw it again. Worst part is they feel guilty and avoid you as a result. But on the other side, its worth a few hundred $$ to discover just how good their word is. Anything over $500 I would now prefer to have something real sitting in my garage to back it up. (preferrably nothing that needs to be fed!).

I have a good friend who has been needing money lately. Yes, I have been buying some things from him. I felt very guilty. He explained it to me like this. I named my price and I need the money. I would rather my situation benefit a friend than a stranger. I told him I would sell him his stuff back at cost if he wants it back later. He now has an 07 and 08 arctic cat 650 h1 he is trying to sell.
