Smile damn good deal

lol i am a proud owner of a 2008 renegade 800 . But yesterday morning my buddy called me up at 10:30 a.m. and said he needs to sell his 2008 polaris sportsman 800 stealth with warn 3500 winch, 14 " wheels and big horn tires, with the back seat asap. i said oh yeah how much he said $3,500.... thats a really good deal but i can not offord it. he told me see how much you can get by noon that same day.. i just traded a 2005 firecat 700 sno pro that i had maybe $2,300 in for a 2006 kawasaki brute force 650 on monday .with itp wheels and mudlites on it. had the solid rear end... i thought it was a great deal.. so anyways i called every dealer in the state trying to sell the brute no one wanted to buy it out right... so i called some friends no luck.... now it is like going on 11:30 a.m. so i went to a local car dealer that i am good friends with and he bought it without even seein it so i went right to the guy with the sportsman. got there and i offered him $1,900 because he didnt inform me that it had a spent belt at the time. and he took the cash. has 2,000 miles on it but all dealer maintaned. gotta love a good deal... i asked why he sold it so cheap he said it was either to live on the wheeler or pay his house mortgage lol.......

It was a 2008 with all those extras? He probably still owed money on it. So there is probably still a LEIN on it.............

So he took your $1,900 and paid his mortgage and you ended up with a quad with a huge lein the bank will be calling you for.

Are you sure you got a good deal? LOL!

It looks to me like you selfishly took advantage of a friend, and maybe a riding partner.

On the other hand it also appears as if he deserved it.

I don't think $1,900 here and $3,500 there is going to save him and his home. It may float him for awhile. He may have to evaluate the option of selling his house before facing forclosure 3-4 months from now.

Does the guy have a wife and children living there?

With this economy there are deals to be had everywhere. I bought a new house, originally $1.3mil, talked to the buiilder, he put $948,000 in to building it. got it for $225,000. I did not even want it, but could not pass it up. Wells Fargo was auctioning it off and jumped at $225k. Bought both our quads from out of work contractors as well as our quad trailer.
The grasshoppers are starving as the ants are finally reaping the benefits of saving all these years!
