Question Inside the Pod.

I took my pod apart today after developing a squeak in the steering. I fixed that with a little silicone spray on the bushing. While inside the pod I noticed a clear tube that comes up from underneath and goes over the top and points down into the steering. Any idea what this is?

It is possibly the gas tank vent hose. If you fill the tank up to the brim you'd see gas come up that tube and drip out the end. You probably wouldn't notice any dripping once it ran a little gas out of the system. I believe it is there to vent the tank.

if its a small tube like a 1/8" tube it will be the gas vent tube. the vent hole where the tube connects to the tank is just in front of the fill cap hole twards the handle bar. this way if you fill it up to the neck of the tank, and the tank starts to build pressure it will push it though the tube. if its about 1/4" it will be for the front diff vent. i know my 2000 vented into the steering tube.
