I had a similar issue my '03 600. It was the oil seal and water pump seal. The seal goes bad and it allows coolant into the lower part of the motor. For my machine I had to replace the water pump seal to get to the oil seal. Both were replaced and it has been fine. There was no indication that the water pump seal was bad because the weep hole was clogged.

you'll need to take the right side of the motor apart and like he said both seals(pay attention on how the old ones are installed) ,plus water pump gasket and side cover gasket ,i don't remember if you'll need a crank seal or not
